Busy?

Only a little busier than yesterday. I answered about a million questions; "Where's the bathroom?" being the, pardon the pun, number one question. I know the store. I know where thing should be, where they could be. I know what people are looking for. It's like back when I did front of store and staff would come to me to help find books. I know books I don't even know. That is, somewhere in the dusty corners of my mind I know the title or the author or what the book looks like or even where it is without having any conscious recognition of the book.

I have my limits. Don't ask me about CD's or DVD's or kids books. Magazines? What are you asking me for?

There are subjects I try not to know; religion, metaphysics, romance. But often the titles or authors superglue to my crammped noggin. This is very useful since I'm a poor speller. Also, hard to explain since I'm still not sure of some of the staff's names, even those that have been with us since September!

We had pizza tonight. Actually all day. More than a dozen boxes of large Blondie's (the best) pizza. Staff was in a good mood. Management team had a couple meltdowns, but seems under control. This was the last day for two of my favorite sellers who are moving on. Sorry to see them go. Meanwhile there's a few on the other end of the spectrum that I'd like to stuff in that large suitcase the crying lady was dragging through our store the other day. A couple incompetent, but, worse, some sneaky ones trying to get time off, or check out the only copy of a book we have, or play unauthorized music (a "Santa Shit" song started playing and I powered down the whole system and took the cd). Pet peeve of mine and there will be consequences. There are at least three staff who are vulnerble to being fired for their misbehaviors in the past few days.

None the less, here's the bright sight greeting me as I left work. Our store is in the background, beind the collums. I tried to wait to get a pretty girl in the foreground but I think they were all busy elsewhere...

Ho Ho Ho

P.S. Lots of people were taking pictures of the dome and lights, but they all seemed to be using flash. How dumb is that?

Oh, great photo and post! Sometimes my camera flashes when I don't want it too and I don't know how to fix that. Merry Christmas, Mr. Bla Bla ~ only one more day. Do you have any Amy Sedaris left?
