OK, my diet stinks. I'm going to try to eat something real tonight, although I'll probably fall asleep soon. Only four hours sleep between shifts...
Very slow start at the store, but geared up around 2 pm. Had two TV camera crews (5 and 7) in the store, and the mayor dropped by to browse cd's (Pink?).
Our ugly nutcracker end-cap signs (good design; sticking out into the aisles so you knock over an entire display of books rounding the corner) are history. And this is the end (for a year) of short rotaion holiday music. Sammy Davis Jr. is tatooed on my brain!
I stopped telling people in the "short" line at the paperchase register that the longer line was serviced by six registers and moved much faster. No one ever changed lines. Maybe too embarassed, or unable to grasp the concept. Our lines move pretty fast but I don't think I would suffer through it if I were a customer, even with our "sampling" of free cafe treats.
A few melt downs but most people -- customers and staff alike -- in good mood. It's been a good holiday.
We have no tree set up at home; no presents (no time or energy). Robin's going to his mom's on Wednesday for a week. So it'll be pretty quiet.
This is a picture of the Castro last night on my way home from the MUNI station.
