Had our holiday meeting this morning. Only got about 3.5 hours sleep since I closed the store last night (and tonight). We had food and drink. Even raw veggies (which I sucked down with relish!). Yet, a rather large amount of staff were no-call-no-show. The usual stuff at the meeting. Mostly business related. Try to get everyone ready for crowds. Mostly, it will be fun.
I started reading The Dogs of Babel. So far the first two chapters are quite good. Lincoln Lawyer, the last book I read, was average at best. Some good ideas but the plot never really took advantage of the conceit; how layers deal with the ideas of guilt or innocence in their clients (and themselves). And the ending left me flat.
Well, a long night ahead. I'm going to be closing all three stores tonight which means lots of counting money. Better get another cup of coffee...

I loved "The Dogs of Babel"!
You are working too hard and
too much, but keeping your
spirits high which I greatly
admire. Was in your store on
Friday, all your registers were
ringing! Told someone in your calendar
store to say hello to you from me.
Take care and keep up the great work,
your totals are pretty amazing.
