Long weekend for me. Rare to get a three-day'er in my line of work.
So what did I do? Work.
Created a DVD, cleaned up Robin's room, hooked up computers. OK, I
did see a good movie (see below) and watch endless episodes of The
Closer. But mostly I tweaked my DVD. Kept seeing one more thing that
need fixing...
Oh yea. A few games of Age of Empires.
So pretty damn quiet. Tomorrow starts the sprint; our mandatory
tenants meeting; last-dash to get what we learned tomorrow into our
meeting notes; test out the A/V at the Universal facilities. Then
Wednesday is our induction with about 80 new employees. We still
don't know what all we're going to do. Hand our hard hats and badges?
Schedule for the Sort (a week from Tuesday)? Lots of people giving
little speaches that we don't know what they will be about or how
long. And when is lunch coming??
OK, so I should get to bed, right? I have an early and long day
tomorrow. But I'll probably stay up late. I've been doing that
lately. Nice to have the apartment to myself (Oh, did I mention
Robin's coming home on Wednesday too?).
OK. The quote had nothing to do with this blog today. It's from Kiss
Kiss Bang Bang, and I like it.

I'm so glad you're writing so much again and the DVD sounds exciting. How nice that you didn't have to work the 3 day holiday weekend. Lots of unhappy customers ~ I figure it has something to do with the end of summer, disappointments, etc. So they take us out on us (we?) poor clerks. I think a lot about luck and fate and staying in the moment too...it's so much healthier than worrying about our world in 5 or 10 years. Doctor J was promoted to supe and he is doing a great job. However, we miss Jaime, pls. tell him so! 80 employees? Seems like about 30 too many, but you don't have payroll constraints yet, I guess.
