I've been spending way too much time on my computer lately. Mostly trying to get music and videos formatted and organized for my iPod. Now don't get me wrong, I love my iPod. Audiobooks, videos, walking to work... But it sure takes a lot of CPU to get everything in the correct format and organized. There's so many different formats for CODECs that each seems to need at least one special tool to make it work optimally.
Then there's all the online research in how to do it all. How to convert audio files so books on tape not only have "bookmarks" that remember where you left off, and chapters instead of multiple little files, and even how you can speed them up (very nice).
Meanwhile I usually listen to music when I'm walking to work. I've discovered the Shuffle feature which randomly picks songs.
My big project on my day off was to repair the dripping showerhead (replace washer). It was easy and very, very satisfying to do something real world (that didn't require a special CODEC). Oh yea, and I doodled this little bug eye man who has been staring at the computer too long...
